Now I remember why I quit blogging for over a year. Because apparently nobody was reading DOWNHILL.
Or, at least, was interested enough to comment on it.
Which also seems to be the case now I've started up again.
Can't say I blame people, either.

I'm reading, but I never feel like I have anything of value to offer in a comment. Don't go away so soon.
You give me heart. Things might improve. I'll go on.
I often feel constrained from comment when I don't know the person blogging. I found your blog through Rebekah's; the funny thing is that you and I HAVE actually met; you were walking the dogs along the route of the Camino, when Harold and I, two Canadians, came through one day in the Spring of 2008. I recognized you from a picture on "Big Fun", which is how I got talking to Rebekah, who I've never met. The internet is a magical place; but one in which curmudgeonly voices have a place. Please stay and talk.
